District Literacy Interventionist
Crystal Singletary-Stone began her career with the NYC Department of Education in 2008 as a special education teacher in District 16. There, she taught for ten years and served as an IEP teacher, new teacher mentor, and special education liaison. In 2018, Crystal transitioned to coaching within Universal Literacy, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with numerous schools across several districts in Queens and the Bronx, supporting teachers in building best practices to close gaps in student learning.
She currently serves as a District 28 Reading Interventionist, supporting teachers in developing and delivering tier 3 instruction to students with the greatest need.
Singletary-Stone’s professional journey is underpinned by a deep passion for fostering literacy among students and educators. This passion is a key aspect of her professional profile and sets her apart as a specialist in literacy.
