Kimberly Black
UFT Teacher Center Coach
Kimberly Black is an experienced educator with over eighteen years in Early Childhood Education. Her career began at PS 132 in District 29. After ten years of teaching elementary grades, she became a Universal Literacy Coach, supporting educators with instructional practices. She has also served as a Literacy Collaborative Coach in Districts 8 and 9. Kimberly is skilled in administering student assessments, analyzing data to monitor progress, and tailoring instruction to meet diverse student needs, all while emphasizing the Science of Reading.
Kimberly graduated from Howard University with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She currently serves as a UFT Teacher Center literacy coach in District 28. Kimberly plans to continue inspiring and supporting educators at all levels, helping to shape stronger literacy programs that drive student success.
