Manuel Castro
Attendance Teacher
Manuel Castro leverages his extensive professional experience to support elementary and middle schools in District 28 with attendance and absenteeism.
Castro began his career in the NYC Department of Education in 2005 as a High School Math teacher and Dean at Long Island City High School. He later served as a Testing Coordinator at the Academy of American Studies. In 2015, he became an Attendance Teacher for the Queens South districts.
Castro holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Math Education from Adelphi University. He also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from the College of St. Rose.
He has served as a Boys’ Tennis Coach and continues to work as a USTA certified official recreationally.
