Petrolina Chukwu
Academic Intervention Specialist Coordinator
Petrolina comes from a family of educators and has been with the NYC Department of Education for 22 years working in many different capacities. Most recently, she has worked as Universal Literacy Coach. Prior to coaching, she was a grade school teacher, was an Academic Intervention Service teacher and data specialist in Brooklyn. Additionally, Petrolina worked part time with the Office of Adult and Continuous Education and taught as an Early Childhood Teacher before joining the NYC Department of Education.
Petrolina earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from City College of New York and Advanced Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and School Building Leader from St. John’s University.
